According to acting secretary general of the General Syndicate of Cars Osama Samkari, bus transportation for pilgrims will be constantly monitored electronically this Haj season.
An agreement to this effect between the General Syndicate of Cars and Wadi Company for Technology of Umm Al-Qura University was signed in Makkah on Saturday.
“A unified e-map will be established to monitor the movement of buses since the arrival of the first batch of pilgrims until the departure of the last one,” he said.
Samkari said the data on the movement of buses and transport companies will be collected and presented on a unified electronic map at the syndicate.
He said “the officials of the syndicate and the ministry will be able to monitor the movement of buses inside Makkah, Madinah, the Holy Sites, on the roads and the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to quickly undertake any necessary action in times of emergencies.”
Samkari added that more than 16,000 buses will be used for transportation Haj pilgrims this year.
The General Syndicate of Cars objective is to organize and direct the transportation of Haj and Umrah pilgrims, students and tourists.The main objective of syndicate is to ensure safety of all pilgrims.
Its aim is to provide well-organized and diversified services to pilgrims with the highly sophisticated means of transport in compliance with safety standards and environment protection criteria.
