CITC warns ‘Pokemon Go’ users to be aware of privacy violations

Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has warned the smartphone users to be aware of electronic games and applications that use geographical positioning technology or using the camera in device like the Pokemon Go game.

They have also claimed that suck kind of games are like threat for users privacy and security and the possibility of misusing these information without users knowing.

The commission urged Pokemon Go users to be careful of using the app, particularly when at home or other private locations.

On July 6, Pokemon Go was launched by Nintendo in only three countries United States, Australia, and NewZealand.As the game gained world wide attention therefore its downloads reached to 10 million on Android and IOS devices.

Not only Saudi Arabia but Gulf region have also been warned of security dangers and transfer of sensitive data via such kind of widely used apps.
