Samsung unveils curved monitors, targets gaming market


Samsung Electronics has introduced a series of curved gaming monitors.The CF591, CF391 and CF390 models, mainly target the PC gaming marketplace.These models were introduced initially this year. Samsung’s curved gaming monitors are manufactured to match the natural shape of the human eye, the company said. This design includes a sharp 1800 mm (1800R) curvature radius. The CF591, CF391 and CF390 monitors feature a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. Samsung’s curved gaming monitors are supported by AMD FreeSync Technology Over HDMI.

Samsung’s CF591 curved monitors can be found at EA Games’ EA Play gaming convention, currently taking place in Los Angeles. EA Games will use the CF591 monitor to preview several of its upcoming game releases, including FIFA 17, Madden NFL 17 and Titanfall 2, during the event.

Samsung will also launch a bundle promotion enabling players to access the competition environment first-hand. Between June and September, US or European consumers who buy a new Samsung CF39 Series or CF591 curved monitor will receive a complimentary copy of a select EA Games title. Standard edition games available as part of the promotion include FIFA 16, Need for Speed, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline.

Promotion participants will receive a promo code on their receipt, via email and/or through the Samsung website. This code can be redeemed for the free game download through the EA Games website.
